Hey everyone, it’s getting colder in Australia — it’s almost winter — and I picked up this Anko ceramic heater from Target. If you don’t know, Target Australia and Kmart Australia are the exact same place, so you can find this at both. I couldn’t find it at Kmart but it was in stock at Target, because no one seems to go to Target anymore even though they’re almost the same store. It was 32 bucks, and we’ll open it up now.

Inside we get a manual — not that you really need it, but still good to have. There you have it: the Anko ceramic heater, quite simple. There’s a power on/off, low, high, and fan, and then you have the thermostat, which isn’t very accurate — it’s just a knob. I plan on connecting this up to a smart switch so I can use a better thermostat to turn it on and off, and hopefully this does a good job.

The thing about resistive heat is it’s all the same. So if you bought a $17 heater or a $32 heater, they’re going to give you the same heat output. I just like the way this one looks, and it was almost double the price and actually has a lower heat output. What you care most about is that cost-to-heat-output ratio.

That’s what it looks like when it’s on and plugged in. I don’t have the heat on at the moment — I just have it on fan so I don’t melt my phone. It’s really nice. I’ve actually had this exact model before; I got rid of it, and I shouldn’t have, because I ended up buying it again.

If you need more heat output, get the cheaper, uglier one — I’ll show you what one of those looks like. That one is about $17 and outputs up to 2,000 watts, which will heat your room more, to be honest. I never used it that high. I like the way this one looks and that’s primarily why I got it, but if you’re looking to save a few bucks just get the other one. They do almost the same thing — it’s more of an aesthetic choice. Heat is heat.

Hope you liked the video and I’ll see you in the next one, bye.
