Hello and welcome back. Today we’ll be looking at this Joby phone mount for a tripod. This thing is pretty expensive for some reason — I think it’s like 90 Australian dollars, though I don’t recall paying that much. I got it a few years ago.
It’s pretty nifty. It can rotate, so it does portrait and landscape, and on the back you can tighten it so it doesn’t come loose. That’s not the fault of the stand — that’s my own fault for not tightening it onto the tripod. The tripod didn’t come with this; I don’t think it’s a very good tripod. I need to get a better one.
It’s quite simple — it’s hard to do without a tripod, but putting in a phone is easy: you loosen up the back and then slide in your phone, which is much easier to do when you have two hands. With the phone inserted it sits like this. It’s quite good. But it is wicked expensive. I’m sure there’s something cheaper that does the same job, but I like mine. I have no idea how much I paid for it — I think I got mine at Officeworks. Yeah.
