Welcome to the balcony. Today we’ll be looking at this YITIKA drip irrigation system. I got this on Amazon while I was going on vacation for 3 weeks, to keep my plants alive while I was gone — and it worked. It’s been going for quite some time now, and it does a pretty good job. You just plug in two little tubes, give it somewhere to get water from, and wire it into your plants. It runs on a timer.

Mine runs every so often — you simply program it. Mine runs for about 6 minutes every 2 days. You can change the frequency (always in days) and the duration (always in minutes). Once you program it you hit start, and it runs. I guess my plants are getting a little more water than they should today. We can look in there and they are being watered — same thing for this one here. It all comes out of this little pump. The water gets sucked up through the intake, through the pump, and out to the plants.

You get all kinds of neat little supplies. Take a look inside — you get plenty of extra tubing (though you can probably get more at the hardware store), and these little adapters. I’m sure you could find alternatives for those. It’s pretty neat. I’m glad I got this and my plants are pretty happy about it — although I think you got a little more water than you should have today because I just tested you. All good.

If you need to charge it, there’s just a USB-C port right here. I’ve never really needed to charge it because I never fully drained it, but I have charged it a few times just because. It’s been going for a few weeks and it’s still got 60% battery. I just top it up with a power bank every so often, so it’ll definitely last for a few weeks on a charge. You could just leave it plugged into a power bank if you’re gone for an extended period of time.

That’s it — stay tuned for more low-effort reviews.
